What do guys read?

On Jon Scieszka's Guys Read there is a great selection of Favorite Books for Guys. And, there is an even better list on a page called Guys Vote.

What struck about me about the books selected both by Jon Scieszka and by the "guys" is that they are all relatively new classics.

And they are books enjoyed equally by girls. I know that this fact doesn't contradict the mission of Guys Read, but it does draw attention to the fact that popular series written for boys have primarily failed to reach an audience in a way that series written for girls (The Babysitters' Club, Abby Hayes, etc.) have not.
