More on celebrity authors

Leila at Bookshelves of Doom pointed out Ed Pilkington's awesome article on celebrity authors in the Guardian yesterday and I hope you all had time to read it. The reviews of a few celebrity titles are really worth the time. Here Pilkington's assesment of Madonna's latest venture for your snarky reading pleasure:
  • The English Roses: Too Good to Be True by Madonna
"Bloated, vapid, frivolous, silly .. need I go on? OK, I will, with one last observation: the writing is painfully bad. 'Dominic de la Guardia was quite a spiffy dancer, but all eyes were on Miss Fluffernutter. She was dancing like a whirling dervish.' Spiffy? Spiffy?"

Whoopi Goldberg and Jamie Lee Curtis fare better.
