Weekend Reviews (I)

It's a rainy, rainy Saturday, so I'm getting an early start on the weekend reviews. Rain cuts down on my wandering, big time. Here are the early reviews:

Susan Perren reviews five new books for The Globe and Mail. They include:
  • On My Way to Buy Eggs, by Chih-Yuan Chen
  • Sun Stone Days, by Elisa Amado, illustrated by Ianna Andreadis
  • Dirty Rotten Bugs?: Arthropods Unite to Tell Their Side of the Story, by Gilles Bonotaux
  • Beowolf, adapted and illustrated by Gareth Hinds
  • The Strongest Man in the World: Louis Cyr, by Nicholas Debon

Mary Harris Russell reviews five new books for The Chicago Tribune. The formatting is all messed up, but books reviewed (you have to match titles with paragraphs above--think of it as a puzzle) include:

  • Pictures From Our Vacation, by Lynne Rae Perkins
  • The Traitors' Gate, by Avi
  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid, by Jeff Kinney
  • If My Dad Were a Dog, by Annabel Tellis
  • Granddad's Fishing Buddy, by Mary Quigley, illustrated by Stephane Jorisch

Last weeks Times Children's Book of the Week is Small Billy and the Midnight Star, by Nette Hilton and Bruce Whatley

More tomorrow...
