Weekend Reviews (I)

Happy Saturday! Here are this weekend's early reviews:

In what I'd call a recommendation column, Deborah Hamilton talks books and reluctant boy readers for the Los Angeles Times.

Karyn Saemann reviews several new children's books for The Madison Times.

Mary Harris Russell considers several new children's books this week for the Chicago Tribune. They include:
  • Ethan, Suspended, by Pamela Ehrenberg
  • Encyclopedia Prehistorica: Mega Beasts, by Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart
  • Skinny Brown Dog, by Kimberly Willis Holt, illustrated by Donald Saaf
  • Bounce, by Doreen Cronin, illustrated by Scott Menchin
  • A Promise Is a Promise, by Florence Parry Heide, illustrated by Tony Auth
  • Jack Plank Tells Tales, by Natalie Babbitt

Philip Ardagh reviews the latest Rick Riordan--The Titan's Curse--for the Guardian. He likes it, of course.

Amanda Craig reviews Young Adult books with Africa as their setting for the Times.
