I haven't done a meme in a long time, but I was just tagged by The Reading Zone for a meme I've not seen before. So, I thought I'd give it a shot.
What were you doing five years ago?
Same thing as now: teaching Russian and Russian lit at a small liberal arts college.
What are five things on your to-do list for today (not in any particular order)?
Well, since it's evening, here's what I have done today:
- Lunch with friends
- Student thesis advising
- Letter of Recommendation writing
- Kid-schlepping (ice and music lessons day)
- The Edge of the Forest-editing (almost there!)
- Sushi
- Anything Indian (except sweets)
- Hot salsa
- Cadbury cream eggs
- anything with wasabi
- Move to London
- Move anyone in my family who wants to move to London to London
- Donate everything beyond what we need to live a middle class life to a particular charity
- write and edit full time
- Travel more (maybe I'll finally make it to Peru?)
- Procrastination on bureaucratic tasks. This bad habit eclipses all others I have. Really. If it involves a bill, a memo, a proposal, a form...I will take until the last possible second to get it done. Drat! Car registration...
- Born in Kansas City, lived there 1 year
- 3 places in California (most of my life)
- Broughty Ferry, Scotland
- Moscow, Russia (I also lived in St. Petersburg for a short period, but like Moscow better.)

I was going to demand a hair photo before I agreed to do the meme, but then you might demand photos from me, so I decided not to escalate. :)

Ooh, ditto Sara. 'Twould be most unwise to escalate, as I have no intention of providing any photographs. (Also, you probably CAN wear your hair like that still. You could even do a pixie, I think, though I'm liking it long.) My Five Things as well.
Having lived in lots of California, I'm curious--where were your spots?
Hi Becky:
I grew up in Hemet.
Then I went to Berkeley and lived there for 4 years.
After college I moved to LA and lived in LA for 10 years before moving to Iowa. I loved LA (I lived all over LA, but mostly lived in that generic area known as West LA) after my first 2 years which were kind of a shock. It was my favorite place I've ever lived in.
Fortunately, my parents are still in Hemet (not the best town, but the nature is beautiful)and my inlaws live half the year in LA, so I still get to visit at least 2xs a year.
Okay. I have my meme up. People are going to be stunned by the vast array of places I've lived.

is the old question : Honestly there is no fast way to make lots of habbo gold.
