The meme, continued

Susan at Chicken Spaghetti added three bonus rounds to the Children's Book meme. Never one to miss a meme, I wanted to participate. Here goes:

Bonus Round #1:

Q. Who wrote your least favorite childhood books?
A. C.S. Lewis (sorry, guys...)

Bonus Round #2

Q. What was the saddest moment in your childhood reading?
A. When Mary goes blind in On the Shores of Silver Lake(?). I clearly remember this. I was seven or eight, on a train, and it was the first time I cried when reading a book. Beth's death in Little Women is, of course, a singularly devastating event.

Bonus Round #3

Q. Which adult book scared the bejeezus out of you?
A. Flowers for Algernon, by Daniel Keyes. Assigned reading in sixth grade.

It has been lots of fun to read responses to this meme. Liz B. at A Chair, A Fireplace and a Tea Cozy, Jamie at Once Upon a Story, Michele at Scholar's Blog, Melissa Wiley at Here in the Bonny Glen, have all recently participated.
