Poetry Friday: Wild Wild Sunflower Child Anna

This Friday's poem is only an excerpt, because it is from a 1987 picture book by Nancy White Carlstrom. Wild Wild Sunflower Child Anna is a fast, joyful run through flowering fields with no stray syllables.

Running and jumping
silly and loud
is Anna
in the morning.
Wild wild sunflower child
Anna.
...
Lifting up the pressing stone
beetles rushing giddy.
Spiders spinning silent webs
around the silver winking.
Silent spinning
buzzing, blinking
breathing rainbows
Anna.
