Profile Alert: Chris Watson talks to Peter Sis about The Wall for the Santa Cruz Sentinel.

Watson also has some gift-book recommendations in the Santa Cruz Sentinel.

David Swann reviews two new books concerning "island heritage" for the Honolulu Star Bulletin.

Joanna H. Kraus recommends children's holiday books for the San Jose Mercury News.

The True Meaning of Smekday, by Adam Rex, is the Washington Post Kids Post Book of the Week.

Jeff Yang reviews Good As Lily, by Derek Kirk Kim, for the San Francisco Chronicle.

Ohio is busy this weekend:

Kathy Englehart reviews picture books in the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Kim Hone-McMahan recommends children's holiday books in the Akron Beacon Journal.

"Four professors of children's literature" team up to review children's books in the Toledo Blade.

Here's wishing you a good beginning to the workweek!
