Favorite Words

I have very strong feelings about words.

When I describe this to other people they either fully understand and chime in with their own loves and hates or, conversely, think I'm insane.

My dislikes seem to fall into one category--short words with short i or short u sounds. Twig. Crisp. Chunk.

But, my absolute favorite words have nothing in common. Serendipity. Cross. Dimwit. Curmudgeonly. Aegean.
Actually, Aegean is not technically an English word, but I like it anyway or I guess I should say I like the way it sounds in English.
(My favorite word in Russian is also an import--karandash)

The best thing about writing is the word.
