Weekend Reviews (I)

A very happy weekend to you. Now that the craziness of the holidays is over, reviews are beginning to appear again in the major media. Here's what I've found so far:

It's Children's Books week in The New York Times. Up this weekend:

• Bruno Navasky reviews two picture books concerning animal spirits: Samsara Dog and Jackie Morris's The Snow Leopard. (Go, Jackie!)
• Roger Sutton (Go, Roger!) reviews Jacqueline Wilson's Candyfloss.
• J.D. Biersdorfer considers Klutz's newest title for the kids The Encyclopedia of Immaturity.
• This week's Bookshelf is devoted to children's books, including Mem Fox's latest.
  

Amanda Craig reviews Eoin Colfer's Airman for the Times. (This one looks like fun!)

Sonja Bolle recommends Joanne Harris's Runemarks in the Los Angeles Times.

Mary Harris Russell reivews six new books in the Chicago Tribune, including Libby Bray and Patricia Reilly Giff's latest.
