Jen Robinson has been kind enough to mention the Children's Book Reviews wiki recently on the kidlitosphere listserv. She reminded me that it's been awhile since I've mentioned it. Here's the deal:
- Children's Book Reviews wiki is an online database of reviews of children's books written by bloggers.
- Anyone is welcome to contribute their reviews. All you need is a password and a set of instructions from me. Send me an e-mail if you'd like to start archiving your reviews.
- I get a substantial number of hits from the wiki--20 to 30 a day--almost as many as from google searches. So, people are using it as a resource. (I'm behind on my archiving too--to the tune of six months.)

Kelly, did I tell you that I asked the Adaptive Blue Smartlinks creators to add the wiki to their search function? When you click on the little blue box next to a title, (or on the cover of my book at my blog) the larger box that appears has info on reviews. If you click on that, reviews from Publishers Weekly (and now the wiki) should show up. But it doesn't do much good if the reviews aren't in the wiki in the first place.
I really hope more bloggers will add their fantastic insights and thoughtful reviews of books to the wiki. Starting with Letters from Rapunzel, of course. :)
I emailed you for info. Thanks for mentioning this!
I'm glad to see you mentioning this, too, Kelly. I think it's a great resource, and I agree with Sara that it would be wonderful to have more people indexing their reviews. Sara, the Adaptive Blue thing is very cool. I'll have to check that out. I get a bunch of hits from the Wiki every day, too, though I haven't tallied how many. As for being caught up, I'm caught up on entering my reviews into the Wiki, it's writing the reviews that I'm behind on...
Kelly,
Thanks for this post. I had no idea we bloggers could add our reviews. It looks as if there's a need for more reviews of poetry books. I'll be in touch...after I finish with a few things that I must attend to in the next two weeks.
Sara: You did? That's so cool! Thank you :) (And at least one review of your book--from TEOTF--will be archived soon, I promise.)
Got it, Breeni Books.
Behind on EVERYTHING, Jen!
Elaine: Please do get in touch as soon as you can...
A recent book I bought for my son is called Archy the Flying Dolphin. It's a really great book. So great i've read it three times in a row!
My son Loves it. Everytime we grab it to read, he wants to read it over and over again. It's like his blanky. He takes it everywhere we go. In the Car, to Daycare, to Grandmas.
It's a really great children's book.
Check it out!! You'll fall in love with it too!
I will email you for instructions and the password. I've been meaning to get around to this...too much wedding in my head.
